The Assessment Library is the home of the story-based DISC assessment, a new category of personality assessment created by founder Shawn Taylor in 2025. Instead of answering a questionnaire, readers step into a pick-your-path storybook and make real decisions in real situations. The choices they make reveal their DISC profile. It is a living diagnostic, not a snapshot.
The Assessment Library is the first company built on the story-based DISC assessment, a method created by founder Shawn Taylor in 2025. Traditional DISC tests are one-and-done questionnaires: easy to second-guess, colored by the mood of the day, and taken once, if ever. The Assessment Library replaces the questionnaire with a shelf of pick-your-path storybooks. Readers make real decisions inside branching stories, and those choices, made while thinking about the story rather than the test, produce their DISC profile. A constantly growing library of titles for adults and kids turns assessment into something people return to, and third-party observer versions reveal how others expect a person to behave. It is a living diagnostic, not a snapshot.
Shawn Taylor is the creator of the story-based DISC assessment and the founder of The Assessment Library. A former union carpenter, recording studio owner, city councilman, and software engineer in the assessment industry, he wrote the first story-based assessment in a single night in March 2025 and named it for his daughter. The Assessment Library launched publicly in July 2026.
"I have spent more than fifty years in the DISC assessment world, and I had never seen anything like what Shawn built. The story-based DISC assessment is his invention, conceived and created entirely on his own with no help from me or Assessments 24x7."
"The Assessment Library is entirely Shawn's creation, developed independently on his own time and separate from his work with Assessments 24x7. While our company has long focused on traditional DISC assessments, Shawn saw an opportunity to create something different and brought that vision to life on his own. Assessments 24x7 has no ownership or claim to the Assessment Library, but we are proud to support Shawn and recognize the creativity, initiative, and innovation behind what he has built."
